Mr. Falzer indicated this time frame was acceptable to him if Council
approved same.
Mr. Hoeft indicated he had spoken with Mr. Palzer concerning the Baron property and
indicated the requested time frame is consistent with weather related contingencies for
housing maintenance codes. It is typical to look toward May or June in order to allow
thawing to occur and allow residents to remove debris.
Motion bv Council Member Nelson, seconded bv Council Member Capra to grant
the Barons. an extension to June 1, 2001 to bring the property into compliance with
City codes.
Council Member Broussard Vickers stated she would like to see continued progress
during the 20-week extension. She then asked Mr. Palzer if he felt progress could be
made over the course of the extension time or if it was a situation where the weather
simply would not allow for additional clean-up. Mayor Swedberg suggested Mr. Palzer
schedule a visit in mid-April to check the progression of the clean up. Mr. Palzer
indicated Mr. Baron was working on clean up when he stopped by to discuss this matter
with him and said he felt the Barons would be able to make continued progress during the
extension period.
Council Member Broussard Vickers requested a friendly amendment to the motion to
include a recheck of the property in ten (10) weeks and, provided continued progress is
being made, Council would grant another ten (10) week extension to June l, 2001.
