Pedestrian Bride Over I35E Need
February 2, 2001, Centerville Park and Recreation, 651-429-3232, Wayne LeBlanc, 651-426-0168
The purpose of this plan is to illustrate the need for a pedestrian bridge across I35E about 1 / mile south of the
highway 14 junction near Centerville. A beautiful trail has just been constructed in the Chain of Lakes Park
' Reserve and will connect to trails leading to Minneapolis and beyond. A trail in Hugo running north on highway 61
already exists and will continue to Duluth. Centerville has agreed to lead trails from the Chain of Lakes Park to
I35E and Lino Lakes and Hugo have agreed to lead a trail to I35E but what is needed is a pedestrian bridge to
connect these two great trail systems. The whole state will benefit from this connection. The map below, taken
from the Metropolitan Council "Regional Parks — A Map and Guide," shows the trail gap between Centerville and
 , ti
Hugo.
