Biaine: City has recently bonded for open space and traiis for $3.5 million. Traii priorities inciude Bunker Hills <br /> Regional Park to Northtown. Sections are in pface south of 99"'. Working on 99"' to Hwy 242. Planning an East <br /> - West route along the southern boundary. New development "Club West" will have 5 parks, internal trails. City <br /> is working on a Greenway Plan for traiis that wiil focus along the county ditch system. Radisson Road wiA have <br /> trail when upgraded. City wants to connect with Lexington trail and Circle Pines trail system, however, the route <br /> is still in question. <br /> Coon Rapids: City has a parks and trail plan that has been adopted by the city council. Caon Creek trail - all land <br /> has been acquired except for one parcel. Sand Creek trail is complete except for tunnel under railroad tracks. <br /> (June 1�). Mississippi River Regional Traii is complete from Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park to Anoka. Note: <br /> Coon Rapids Blvd. trail section will be upgraded when street is upgraded. Proposed trail from Coon Rapids Dam <br /> Regional Park to Bunker Hills has new alignment past old city hall site. Historical structures exist near site, old <br /> bridge and the first water-tower. <br /> Fridley: City has worked with county in establishing Mississippi River Regional Trail. Alignment of trail is <br /> proposed to bypass Riverview Terrace section and move section onto East River Road which has an off-road <br /> trail. Since tunnel under Hwy 65 has been completed, there has been a drastic increase in use of trail. Trail <br /> along University Ave was done through ISTEA grants, and it was suggested never to use that grant program <br /> again because of too much engineering and specification requirements. Off-road trail along Old Central is <br /> finished, from Osborne to Moore Lake. North Star Corridor may have a stop at 61 Looking at some sort of <br /> crossing at tracks. City is planning trail segments along 85"', 7"' Street and near the new Medtronics <br /> Headquarters. <br />
