Primary determinants of significance include length, expected use, and resource <br /> quality/attractiveness. <br /> , How it works: . Provides reimbursement grants to locai units of govemment for trail royects or serves as <br /> P <br /> a partial local "match" for a TEA-21 Enhancement Project. <br /> '� Eligible Cities, counties, and townships. <br /> Applicants: <br /> Local Support: Local/area support must be demonstrated. <br /> Eligible Projects: Land acquisition and trail development. Priority will be given to projects that provide a <br /> useable trail. Land purchased with this fund will require a"perpetual easement for <br /> recreational trail purposes," and trails developed with these funds will require a twenty- <br /> year maintenance commitment by the project sponsor. <br /> Reimbursement A maximum of 50 percent of the total eligible project costs. Minimum-$5,000. Maximum- <br /> Grant Amount: $25Q,�00. <br /> Local Match: Fifty percent "cash match" for eligible elements of the project proposal. Neither this <br /> funding source nor the "cash match" can be used for labor services and/or to meet <br /> existing payro4! (i.e., onfy contract services, materiais, and supplies are reimbursablej. <br /> Match must not include other state funds, Metropolitan Councit Grants, or Nationa{ <br /> Recreation Trail Program (formerly Symms). <br /> Pro�ect Period: In most cases funding is only available through June 30, 2003. At that time, the project <br /> must be completely developed and all billings submitted to the DNR. Pending approval <br /> by the Legislature, this period may be extended for projects receiving TEA-21 <br /> Enhancement funding. � <br /> Disbursement of Granis are reimbursable.
