t
Mr. LeBlanc stressed how im ressed he was with the Desi T ex lainin the did a eat
p P g Y '
job of creating a"shared vision" and noted that everything is "doable". Mr. LeBlanc wanted to
re-iterate the importance of the City following through with the visions presented by the Design
Team. He also asked Mr. March if the City follows the Comp Plan, when it was approved and if
Mr. March would keep the information in the Comp Plan updated. Mr. LeBlanc questioned a few
different trail easements, and if the CiTy follows the Centerville Park and Pedestrian System Comp
Plan which is referenced in the Comp P1an. The Park and Pedestrian System Camp Plan specifies
that the City would like to be pedestrian friendly.
Mr. March stated that for the most part, the City does follow the Comp Plan which was approved
in 1997.
Mr. Larson plained that a former member of the Park and Recreation Committee drafted the
Centerville Park and Pedestrian System Comp Plan, as a"thumb sketch" but was never officially
adopted by the City,
Mr. LeBlanc mentioned that he would be willing to "tackle the project" of updating / scanning the
Park and Pedestrian System Comp Plan. The last of Mr. LeBlanc's information consisted of the
information the City of Circle Pines distributes regarding trails, and a sketch prepared by a Mr.
Michael Pressman / Director of Planning for the "1000 Friends of Minnesota". Mr. LeBlanc felt it
would be beneficial for the City of Centerville to contact Mr. Pressman to see if he can help the
City set aside land as a tax donation and/ar public land. Mr. March offered to contact Mr.
Pressman.
OLD BUSINE5S
Draft Letter from Wayne LeBlnc i
Mr. Navin explained how at the previous Park arid Recreation Meeting, Mr_ LeBlanc offered to ,
compose a letter to the Cities of Hugo and Lino Lakes. This letter is to request a contact person
and any information regarding trails or anything relating to trails be forwarded on to the City of I
Centerville.
Motion by Ms. DeVine to approve the letter submitted by Mr. LeBlanc to be written pn
City letterhead, and sent to the appropriate parties. Motion seconded by Mr. Porter. All
in favor. Motion carried.
Ms. Lien is to re-write the Ietter on City letterhead and send to appropriate parties involved. Ms.
Lien is also to copy the letter to the Park and Recreation Committee Members along with any
type of response from Hugo or Lino Lakes.
Mr. Porter wanted to express his thanks to Mr. LeBlanc for a11 of his time and efforts he has so
diligently put forth into the Design Team Follow-up.
2
