Lazer Light Technologies offers fund raisers with Lazer Scribed Bricks. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee briefly laoked over the information and discussed the <br /> information. The general consensus of the committee was that the City andlor Park and <br /> Recreation Committee is not ready or in ihe need of a fund raiser. <br /> Park and Recreation Committee Sponsored Youth Activities <br /> Ms. Lien asked the Park and Recreation Committee if they wanted to pursue spansoring <br /> events for the children of Centerville. Such events would include: kite flying, track and <br /> field, softball tournaments, volleyball tournarrtents, bike racing, etc. <br /> The �eneral consensus of the Park and Recreation Committee was that there are so many �''� <br /> events offered through Lino Lakes, Centennia� 5choor District and surrount�in� � <br /> communities that they �idn't feel the need to offer them through Centerville. Mr. Brown <br /> felt it all came down time and money, ac�ding the Park and Recreation Comrr�tttee �� <br /> voluntears their time for City issues. Adding, that not many of the members have time to i <br /> help with outside events. Mr. Porter felt it would be something to r�o for fun, adding that ��� <br /> maybe the City could offer prizes. l�Ir. Larson mentioned that in Lino Lakes, not ' <br /> evervone volunteers, the City pays for t�teir time. YIr. Sweer�ey clari�ied, only Park and , <br /> Recreation are paid in Lino Lakes. Mr. Larson suggested that maybe it is time for the City � <br /> of Centerville to consider hiring a Parks �nd Recreation Director. N1r. Src�urrr didn't feel � <br /> the City has the need nor the money for that position at this time. <br /> DISCUSSIOIV ITEMS <br /> Mr. Larson brought attention to the condition of the slide at the Ro_yal 1VFeadows Park. <br /> Basically the slide is shot, ard ready �o fall down. It needs to be removed. Also, the <br /> swing set is in poor condition. Mr. Larsdn statecl that he had already spoke with Mr. Paul <br /> Palzer (Building Official) about purchasing a new sw�ing. Mr. Palzer told Mr. Larson that <br /> it would cost the City approximately $400 -$600 to repair the current swirrg. �t wou�d be <br /> more beneficial for the City to purchase a new swing. <br /> iVIotion by Dale Larson ta have Pt�blic �'or�s remove the slide at Ray�t �ble�dows <br /> Park.
