Mayor Wilharber <br /> commented the fees would recycle through the public entities. <br /> Motion bv Mavor Wilharber, seconded by Councilmember Sweenev to waive the building permit <br /> fee for the Centerville Elementary School sign. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> Resignation of Councilmember Theresa Brenner <br /> With re reg t, MaYor Tom Wilharber moved to accept Councilmember Brenner's letter of <br /> ' resignation. Councilmember Mari Nelson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mayor Wilharber noted that Theresa has been an integral part of the Council, EDC, Design Team, <br /> Youth, Star City, HRA/Senior Housing and many, many other organizations. Moreover, she will be <br /> missed by many for a long time. <br /> Mayor �Vi�harber highlighted on the possible options to fill the Council vacancy: <br /> Post the vacancy, accept applications and conduct interviews. <br /> Hold a Special Election. <br /> Offer �he position to the next highest vote getter - Linda Broussard Vickers <br /> The Mayor stated that he had contacted Linda Broussard Vickers and she had voiced an interest and <br /> would welcome the opportunity to work with Council. Ms. Vickers also stated that she would regret <br /> having to resign from the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> Motion bv Councilmember Netson, seconded by Councilmember Sweenev that the City inform <br /> individuals that a Council �osition is available, accept resumes or letters af interest then interview. <br /> Further Discussion: <br /> Councilmember Travis commented he would rather see Linda Broussard Vickers be appointed to the <br /> City Council. He reasoned that he could not think of a more informed, or better candidate that has <br /> shown interest. Ms. Broussard has been active in the Community, on the Planning Commission and ran <br /> for Council in the last election.
