.
;.
Centerville Neighbohood Network _ _
t 'p -i ;, '' --
Supporting Centerille's Pttrks & 2"rrrils
Hello Friends and Neighbors,
This memo is to keep the communication open between the residents that are interested in
the development of the proposed "Acorn Creel Park", and the City's Park and Recreation
Committee. The Public Hearing in reference to the park was held on March 3 1999 at
the City Ha.11. After much discussion with the Park and Recreation Committee, we, as
neighbors were asked to draw up a sketch of what we would like to see the park look like,
and what we would like to see in it. To have been granted this opportunity, shows that
the Park and Recreation Committee is concerned with what the residents feel and want.
The time limit that we have to create our neighborhood sketch is limited. It is limited
because the City has the opportunity to apply for a matching grant that could aid in park
project costs up to $50,000. In order to have the "Outdoor Recreation Grant" submitted
by its deadline of March 31` we must work quickly. Together we can accomplish a lot.
We aIl have expertise in different areas, and that will serve as a benefit to our park. Here
is the plan:
1. Look through the survey results, and determine what amenities you feel that you
would like to see in the park.
2. Have some fun with your spouse and children and plot the amenities on the map of
the park. For exasnple, draw trees where you feel there should be trees, put benches '
where you feet there should be benches. You may not want to include all of the
amenities, which is fine too. Be creative; use color if you wish. i
3. Bring your map to our "Acorn Creek Park" gathering at the City Hall on Thursday,
March 11 @7:00. That night we will put all of our ideas together to come up with a
final sketch to present to the Park and Recreation Committee.
We hope to see you all on March 11, 1999. Bring a soda, dress casual, and come design
the park! If you are interested but cannot attend, please call Aimee at 653-0791.

This infotmation comes to yozr from the Centerville Neighborhood Network.
