Furthermore, Mr. Drilling stated that he was in favor of earth tone colors and they planned to install <br /> shielded Iighting for the parking area. Mr. March confirmed Mayor Wilharber inquiry about a pedestrian <br /> sidewalk near County Road 14, to continue the sidewalk theme, such as, color and parking lights. <br /> Mr. Jeff Turner (7151 Peterson Tria1) suggested the inlet and e�t be exclusive to County Road 14, not <br /> � on Peterson Trail. Also, a privacy fence and greenery to buffer noise from the residential development. <br /> Mr. Turner suggested the sidewalk continue along Main Street. <br /> I Mr. Drilling arrived at 6:33 p.m. <br /> Mr. Drilling gave a thumbnail sketch of the proposed strip mall building and highlighted on amendments <br /> to the plan that Planning and Zoning discussed. In addition, the traffic will be redirected to the north in <br /> hopes to reduce speed and traffic onto Peterson . The building will be of a historical design with earth <br /> tones, instead of a cement building. The lighting will be shaded lighting that angles down casting the light <br /> � to the ground. Mr. Drilling took photographs of several different fences and hoped the property owners <br /> favored one design. <br /> Ms. Coral Wilkens (1832 Houle Circle) questioned how will the drainage and wetlands be effected. Mr. <br /> Drilling explained that the drainage will continue the way the property has been designed to drain. In <br /> short, there will not be a change in the drainage or its design. <br /> Mr. Turner questioned the possibility of a sidewalk near Main Street. Mr. Drilling proposed to put in a <br /> sidewalk near Main Street. However, according to Mr. Roger Butler (Anoka County Highway <br /> Department Engineer) Anoka County plans to widen Main Street and the sidewalk may be removed. <br /> Although, it may be advantageous for the adjacent property owners to install a contiguous sidewalk, the <br /> effort may end in its removal. <br /> The Council discussed the cost to install cement sidewalks or an asphalt trail way. Mayor Wilharber � <br /> spoke to Margaret Langfeld about interconnecting the county trails to the city trails. Councilmember <br /> Nelson questioned the difference between the proposed building and the Design Teams Village Center <br /> Building Reuse. Mr. Drilling explained that the proposed roof line is different than the Design Team <br /> Village Center Building Reuse. Councilmember Nelson suggested the building theme be consistent with <br /> the Design Team idea. <br /> Mr. Turner expressed concern about commercial traffic interfering with residential tr�c on a residential <br /> road. Peterson Trail is a busy road and directing commercial traffic onto it may cause sever traffic <br /> congestion. Councilmember Sweeney suggested redirecting traffic to have an entrance and an e�t <br /> driveway. <br /> Mr. Peterson commented that he would like to review the site drainage plan, prior to making comment in <br /> regards to drainage. Mayor Wilharber questioned RCWD approval. Mr. Drilling replied that the <br /> lowland is manmade, and therefore did not foresee a delay with RCWD application approval. <br /> Mayor Wilharber noted receipt of the Centennial Fire Districts comments, suggesting the Council <br /> consider leaving the inlet as proposed. <br /> The Council discussed the building design and stressed the desire for a historical design. <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br />
