The City would like to develop the park I
into a passive recreational area for City residents. Centerville is requesting a grant in the
amount of$50,000 from the Deartment af Natural Resources for improving Acorn Creek
Park. Possible improvements include a playground, picnic tables, barbecue grills, benches,
lighting and a gazebo. The development of the park is needed in order ta provide a
growing population with a developed neighborhood park. It would also build on a visit by
the 1Vlinnesota Design Team in September of 1998. However, the City has limited
resources for developing the park and it is hoped that grant funds will help the City
camplete its vision for the community and for Acorn Creek Park.
