City Administrator Dallas Larson
City Administrator Larson reported that a while back, as a part of the City's water
conservation plan approval, the City was asked by the DNR to monitor the drawdown of
City wells. He stated the proposal was going to cost approximately $13,000 and Council
had asked Staff to go back to the DNR to request a delay on that requirement. The DNR
has agreed to accept the City's water conservation plan without that immediate
requirement to monitor the wells, rather deferring that work for approximately five to
seven years. Staff has modified the plan to include the new language and may need
Council approval. Staff would keep Council updated.
City Administrator Larson reported on City Council holding a joint meeting with
Planning and Zoning Commission to discuss the downtown nonconforming uses as well
as the Comprehensive Plan. City Council discussed dates with the consensus being that
Staff speaks to the Planning and Zoning Commission asking whether June 8, 2010, or
June 9, 2010, works best to hold a joint meeting and report back to Council.
City Administrator Larson reported on holding a work session on the initial budget for
2011 to discuss projections for 2012 — 2013. City Council discussed with the consensus
being to schedule a work session for June 9, 2010.
2.
