City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> September 22, 2010 <br /> VI. AWARDS /PRESENTATIONS /APPEARANCES <br /> 1. Centerville Lions Member Terri Sweeney, Secretary — Use of Warming House <br /> for Annual Haunted House & Food Drive <br /> Mr. Terry Sweeney, secretary of Centerville Lions and Chairperson for the Annual <br /> Haunted House, stated he is here tonight to request use of the warming house for the <br /> annual event. He stated this is a great community event and encouraged residents to <br /> come out and participate. It is planned for the last two weekends of October. <br /> Mayor Capra reminded Mr. Sweeney that the fire inspector needs to review the maze to <br /> avoid any fire hazards. <br /> Mr. Sweeney indicated the fire inspector has gone through the maze in the past and he <br /> plans to continue this in October. <br /> Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve <br /> the Centerville Lions to use the warming house for annual Haunted House and <br /> Food Drive. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Stormwater Irrigation — Authorize Bids <br /> City Engineer Statz reviewed the Stormwater Irrigation project and stated tonight he is <br /> asking for the City Council to authorize bids for the project. He added this will be sent <br /> out for bid with a base bid with an alternate. The alternate is for a traditional in- ground <br /> irrigation system, while the base bid will be for the system with large gun type heads. <br /> Mayor Capra stated she was impressed with the demonstration of the large gun -style <br /> irrigation head and surprised at the minimal amount of noise it produced. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar to <br /> authorize bids for the Stormwater Irrigation at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. <br /> All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 2. Bids on the Regional Trail Project <br /> City Engineer Statz reviewed background information on the Regional Trail Project and <br /> presented the bids for the Regional Trail Link Project. This project was rebid with <br /> options and material substitutions. <br /> City Administrator Larson presented the proposed funding option for the base bid of the <br /> project including an internal loan from the wastewater fund. <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br />
