CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> <br />August 4, 2010 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Corrections include the following: on page 3 of 6 second to the last paragraph, change the reference <br />from Mary to Mayor Capra. On page 4 of 6 Chairperson Peterson should be changed to Committee <br />Member Peterson. On page 5 of 6 there is a reference to the Ham Radio Club and it should be <br />‘ <br />changed to Anoka County Radio Club. On page 4 of 6 The committee opted for Wednesday, <br />ththth <br />September 11 at 6:30.’ The date should be changed from September 11 to September 15. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Selander, seconded by Committee Member <br />Amundsen to approve the August 4, 2010 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes with <br />the above corrections. Ayes – 5, Nays – 0, Abstain – 2 (Grahek, Haiden) Motion passed. <br /> <br />V. COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />VI. UPDATES <br /> <br />Movie in the Park (Peterson & Selander) <br /> <br />Committee member Peterson provided information on the cost $196.20 for equipment, $175.00 for the <br />movie, and $18.00 for shipping. Swank Motion Pictures was the only vendor that had the rights to <br />th <br />provide a movie for outdoor viewing. The movies available for the September 18 Movie in the Park <br />are ANTZ, Little Big League, Muppets, Free Willy and Space Jam. Committee Member Seeley will <br />provide the white billboard sheet for the movie. <br /> <br />2010 ~ 8K Run Review <br /> <br />Chairperson Branch provided an update on the run participants and the event. Chairperson Branch <br />proposed the event be run on July 30, 2011 and include a kid’s run and in-line skating event. Age <br />guidelines would be 12 and under for the kid’s run. Anoka County Radio Club was a very positive <br />addition to the race this year. There will be additional research on the time keeping for the 2011 race. <br />The tri-fold flyer for all summer events should be sent out in the spring of 2011. The following have <br />been stored at Public Works for next year: 5 signs 2x4, 10 small runners crossing signs, and 12 cases <br />of water. <br /> <br />The committee was supplied with expenses and revenue to this point per Mr. Mike Jeziorski, Finance <br />Director. All invoices have not been received. There also should be one more payment from Midwest <br />Events, online registration. <br /> <br />Music in the Park Review <br /> <br />st <br />Chairperson Branch provided an update on the music in the park for Tuesday, August 31 as a success <br />and the best of the season. Vice-Chairperson Grahek requested we avoid scheduling a Music in the <br />Park event on Night to Unit in 2011. Committee Member Peterson requested to have a standardized <br />weather cancellation plan. Chairperson Branch would like to have a committee member agree to be <br />the coordinator for each specific event. <br />2 of 3 <br /> <br />
