Gardner on Zoning Commission. <br />matters until he returns April 21. <br />Ron and Pam Docken at 4140 Otter Lake Road: have filed an <br />application for a variance which would currently be <br />required to build a proposed attached 24x28 two car <br />garage on the east side of their house. <br />Before this application can be acted on the legal status. <br />of the extension of Scheuneman Road north-easterly of the <br />junction of Otter Lake and Scheuneman Roads should be <br />determined along.. with the location of the right of way <br />and its northern termination. As you know, the exact <br />status of this Road, Street, Way or whatever, has <br />remained unclear for a number of years which has resulted <br />in at least one potentially non -conforming encroachment <br />of a house on the east side, and makes uncertain the <br />proper response to the present application. <br />The light traffic on this road as well as the limited <br />area served suggest that this road be designated a <br />"Private Way" as provided in the Gem Lake Sub -division <br />Ordinance which would established a 40 foot right of way <br />divided evenly by the current center line. <br />Part ❑f such determination should include responsibility <br />for maintenance of such a Private Way, including snow <br />plowing. <br />To this end, Commission members Leider, Nielsen and Bemis <br />have agreed by phone to recommend to the City Council at <br />its meeting April 11 that the Council call a public <br />meeting on this matter at the time of the regular May <br />City Council meeting May 16. <br />
