The sheriff's secretary and several and severalstaff will also be working out of this space. The Sheriff's secretary <br />will also provide secretarially duties to the City of Gem Lake. so that an additional person is not needed. The space <br />will be leased out to the Sheriffs department at a competitive rate which will be deducted from the City of Germ <br />Lake's currently monthly payment to the Sheriff for his services. It was noted that discussions regarding paying for <br />maintenance of the common area of the building are underway. It was alsonoted that the parking lot may need to be <br />expanded to provide enough parking. Fortunately,because of the timeof the year, completion of the landscaping of <br />the grounds around the building has not yet begun. Resident lJzpen asked if a written contract was being drawn up <br />with the Sheriff. Mayor Emeott stated that a formal agreement would be written up. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />A) City MS4 report for 2006 (Watson): No report. Councilor Watson is not in attendance. <br />Ii) SEH Invoice for supervising sewer main repair Mayor Emeott reported that XCeI has agreed to make <br />payment to SEH for this work. There initially was confusion over what this charge was for. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />A) Approval of payment of claims for December 2007: Mayor Eiiicott referred. the Council to the listing of <br />payments requiring approval. Forty-four chairs were purchased forthemeeting room, all that were in stock at Sarn's <br />Club. Mayor Emeott gave a formal thank you to Beth and Steve Hertzog for volunteering tohelp pick-up chairs, <br />Another 6-10 chairs may still be needed. There are many other items still needed. Discussed idea of including a list <br />of items still needed for inclusion in the city newsletter. There was also a large payment to Wells Fargo for <br />repayment of 2004 bonds for Schueneman Road sewer. Payment of claims' for time period above was unanimously <br />approvedas indicated by Councilor's signatures on this document <br />B) Putman Planners contract. for Hwy 61 I County Road E NE Corner: Marc Putman presented Mayor <br />Emeott with a written contactfor $5000 for creation ofa development plan for the NE corner of Hwy 61 and Co. <br />Rd. E. as requested by. the City Council. Mayor Emeott signed the contract and indicated that a check would be <br />available as of tomorrow for 10% of the agreed upon price. <br />C) Resolution 2008-1 Appointments for 2008: Mayor Emeott presented a listing of appointments needed for <br />2008. Several :changes were made per request of Councilor Artig-Swomley. Motion by Artig-Swoiniey,. Seconded <br />by Schilling for approval of Resolution 2008-1 Appointments for 2008 with the changes.. discussed was <br />unnnimously.approved by voice vote. <br />I]) Resolution 2008-2 Fee schedule for 2008: Mayor Emeott presented a 2008 Fee Schedule. Discussion <br />regarding addition of a general Business License fee occurred with. a final decision of a nominal $50 fee tobe <br />accessed. Motion by Schilling, Seconded Rasmussen for approval of Resolution 2008-2 Fee schedule for 2008 was <br />unanimously approved by voice vote. <br />E) SCORE grant. for 2008: Mayor. Emeott noted that a grant is being offeredto cities for completion of an <br />annual recycling survey. Currently the city has no one to administer the 5-6 page survey which requires tracking of <br />recycling amounts within the city. It was decided by the Council that the city would decline participation in the <br />survey and grant for 2008. <br />F) :Formal "Thank you" to Tousley Ford for use of meetingroom for last 30 years: Mayor Emeott <br />asked for suggestions on how to thank Tousley Ford for their use of the meeting room. it was suggested by Artig-. <br />Swomley that Mayor Emeottwrite a formal thank you letter to Touslcy Ford. Also, they could receive a invitation to <br />the Grand opening celebration of the New City Hall. Then:disoussion About how to go about putting something into <br />the White Bear Press occurred. It was suggested that either an article be written up or a letter to the editor submitted. <br />Artig-Sworn.ley agreed to write up something forinclusion in the City Newsletter as well as to the White Bear Press. <br />Look for us on the.
