Planning Commission Meeting <br />June 2, 2009 <br />Page Three <br />Land Use: Our numbers do not match the. Metropolitan Council numbers. The <br />orily land Gem Lake has available for development is the Hanson property and <br />the Murphy property. Will discuss with SEH in regards to the numbers. <br />Local Surface Water Management: An option is that the City may want to <br />update the plan. Had been authorized to move forward with it awhile back. The <br />current plan doesn't need much updating. <br />Transportation: The chart on page five (5) needs to be included with a <br />statement from Gem Lake. <br />It was decided by the Planning Commission and Mayor Uzpen that a meeting will <br />be set up with SEH to discuss the letter from Metropolitan Council and the <br />changes that will be addressed per the letter. A date has not been decided, but <br />will be held sometime in June, 2009. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Sign Code: Will put on next Planning Commission agenda. Planning <br />Commission would like to review Vadnais Heights Sign Code Ordinance and <br />review. <br />Density: Discussion by Mayor Uzpen and the Planning Commission that we <br />have plans out there due to the Gateway Zoning Ordinance. Density is for the <br />City, not just for one development or one street. <br />PUBLIC DISCUSSION <br />Mongolian Independence Day: Mr. Jack Hoeschler made an announcement that <br />on July 12, 2009, he will be having an Mongolian celebration and Gem Lake will <br />be in the center of the Minnesota Mongolian festivities on that day. Some of the <br />festivities will be. Mongolian wrestling, archery contests, and may be a horse to <br />ride for the younger children. It will be held in his pasture on his land.
