,}1.#00:A <br />SEH <br />July 9, 2009 <br />Mr. Robert llzpen <br />Mayor <br />City of Gem Lake <br />4200 Otter Lake Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110-5231 <br />RE: City of Gem Lake, Minnesota <br />South Scheuneman Road Improvements <br />SEH No. GEMLK 109096 <br />Dear Mr. Uzpen: <br />We are pleased to submit this letter proposal for preparing: construction documents and assistingthe City <br />with the bidding and constriction administration of the street, sanitary, and storm sewer improvements of <br />South Scheuneman Road. The general project area discussed at the May 11 meeting :includesthe <br />intersection of South Scheuneman Road with County Road .E and extends approximately 600 feet to the <br />north of County Road E. This letter supplements the Agreement for Professional Services between the <br />City of Gem Lake, Minnesota (Owner), and Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH®) (Consultant), for <br />providing professional services. <br />Scope. of Work <br />We understand. the. project to consist of preparing the cot€struction .plans.for street and storm. sewer <br />improvements of approximately the south Goa ffeet of.Scheunemnan.Road. The improvements are <br />anticipated to include the installation. of new storrri sewer structures, pipe &outlets, minor di tch <br />regrading, mill & overlay of the existing bituminous pave€nent in the project area, and include trenchless <br />pipe lining of the exiting sanitary sewer as an alternate to the project. We will. also assist the City in: the <br />bid opening: process. and perforrn the needed construction adininistration for. the construction of the. <br />improvements. Our scope has three main tasks which are outlined below: <br />Task 1: Preparation of the Construction plans.. <br />Perform a topographic :survey of the project area for use in preparation of the construction plans. The <br />survey will include a review of the existing structures within the project area to identify potential <br />conflicts with the proposed improvements. <br />• Prepareconstruction plans and specificationsper theimprovements identified at the May 11. 2009 <br />work session and ordered by. the City Council on May 19, 2009. <br />• Coordinate with Ramsey County public works and private utilities toidentify conflicts with the <br />proposed improvements. <br />• Review construction documents with the City prior to the advertisement for bids. <br />• Assist the.
