Mr. Robert Uzpen <br />July 9, 2009 <br />Page 2 <br />Task 2: Construction Administration <br />• • Coordinate a preconstruction conference with the contractor, City .staff,.private.. utilities, and SEH <br />representatives.. <br />• Provide daily on --site construction observation services during: the construction of the improvements <br />(we estimate 96 hours for this effort). <br />Provide needed construction staking for the storm sewer & street. improvements. <br />Review and recommend payment of contractor pay requests. <br />• Prepare "as -built", construction drawings of theimprovements in hard copy and electronic format. <br />Optional Task 3:. Special assessment assistance <br />If requested, we can assist the City with the special assessments for the project. This could include: <br />assistance in preparation of the special assessment role and attending the assessment hearing if requested. <br />For fee estimating purposes we have assumed this task to require 14 hours of staff time plus 2 hours to <br />attend the assessment. hearing. Actual time spend on thistask would be billed onan hourly basis should <br />the. City request task 3. <br />Schedule <br />We anticipate starting our services upon your authorization and will coordinate completing our services <br />per the anticipated project schedule shown below: <br />• Complete topographic survey July 31, 2009 <br />• Review draft plans with City. August 18 <br />• Authorize advertisement for bids. August 18 <br />• Advertise project for bidding August 26, Sept. 2, 9 <br />Open. bids September 17 <br />• Award. contract. September 22* <br />• Complete construction October 30 <br />• Assessment hearing November 17 <br />The above project schedule is based on authorizationof this agreement on July 21, 2009. If there are <br />delays in the Project that are beyond ourcontrol, you agree to grant additional compensation and time to <br />complete the services. <br />Note this is not theregular scheduled .September council meeting date. Due to the newspaper deadline <br />and publication dates, the required three weeks of advertising will not be achieved prior to the regular <br />scheduled September 15,h meeting. <br />Compensation <br />Based on our understanding of theproject and the scope of services described above, SEH proposes to <br />complete this work for $30,065. A :detailed breakdown of tasks and hours is shown in Attachment A. <br />Compensation for the services identified in the scope of work will be made on an hourly basisplus cost of <br />reimbursable expenses. <br />
