Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />Page 2 <br />In addition, a suggestion was made to place an article about the pending Daniels <br />Farm Road name change and the history of how the City of Gem Lake prospered <br />after World War II. Councilmember Artig-Swomley suggested putting a non <br />perishable food donation box in the lobby of Gem Lake City Hall for the months <br />of November and December. <br />Surface. Water Project. Plari: Since Councilmember Watson was not present, <br />no updates or comments were mentioned. <br />Water Testing: Councilmember Lindner updated the City Council regarding <br />getting water testing kits for the residents of Gem Lake to be picked up at City <br />Hall. It is still on -going and he has placed a call with Ramsey County to see if <br />they give out free kits for residents. <br />Flage Pole: Mayor Uzpen has received three (3) bids for doing the electrical <br />work for the flag pole. Councilmember Lindner stated that he may be able to <br />obtain two (2) flag poles for free. Councilmember Lindner will contact <br />Commissioner Mairer from the Planning Commission to discuss transport of the <br />flag poles. The Council members would like to get the hole dug before the <br />ground freezes. <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Solicitation Ordinance #111: The Councilmembers discussed the language of <br />Ordinance #111. A question was raised by Councilmember Lindner regarding <br />language stating "blowing any horns making noise.." The item was discussed <br />and resolved. <br />The. Public. Hearing was opened at 7:24 p.m. No citizens were present and no <br />comments were received. The Public Hearing was closed at 7:27 p.m. <br />Upon motion from Councilmember Lindner and seconded by Councilmember <br />Artig-Swomley to accept the Ordinance on Solicitation and the short summary. <br />Ayes — 4, Nays — O. Ordinance #111 passes. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Scheuneman Road Project Update: Justin Gese from SEH presented to the <br />City Council members a few changes/problems that have come up regarding the <br />east side of Scheuneman Road. There is an old drain/catch basin there now that <br />is not draining the water and needs to be replaced. The amendment of the bid <br />Look for us on the World Wide Web atgemlakemn.org. <br />
