Gem. Lake Planning Commission Minutes. <br />page 2 of.3 <br />permit by the City Council. It was stated that it would be 20 parking spaces with <br />one parked car per space and with an additional six parking spaces that go with <br />the front office. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to <br />approve and send forward to the City Council. Upon motion by Commissioner <br />Maier and seconded by Commissioner Herzog, the conditional use permit was <br />approved to forward to the City Council. Ayes - 3, Nays — 0. <br />3599 Scheuneman Road: Conditional use permit request from Mr. <br />starting a business by the name of High Tech Auto Services, Inc. The store will <br />be in the old Surround Sound store. His business is restoring/service repair of <br />old autos and full auto service. His place of business will be selling auto alarms, <br />custom tires, anything that has to do with restoring older vehicles. Most of his <br />stock is custom order. He will be the person working at the Gem Lake store. His <br />plan is to paint the outside and wants to clean up the area. He will view the sign <br />ordinance to see what is acceptable. The Planning Commission discussed the <br />issues and upon motion by Commissioner Herzog and seconded by <br />Commissioner Maier, it was approved to forward to the City Council and <br />suggested to attend the February 23, 2010 City Council meeting. Ayes — 3, Nays <br />_0 <br />Hansen Property (West of Daniels Farm Road): There was discussion related <br />to the development of the Hansen property. The developer did not attend the <br />workshop meeting on Monday, February 1, 2010 and Chairman Rafferty stated <br />that the developer had called him and had the dates mixed up. <br />OPEN DISCUSSION <br />It was discussed that the Planning Commission is waiting for a response back <br />from the Metropolitan Council. It was mentioned by Mayor Uzpen that the Comp <br />Plan is from 2008..The Planning Commission agreed to view the updated Cornp <br />Plan and focus on sections three, five, and nine and will discuss at the March <br />Planning Commission meeting. Will look over a chapter at a time. Mayor Uzpen <br />stated that there is money in the budget for the Planning Commission to work <br />with SEH. The Gateway Ordinance has been passed and zoning changed, but <br />nothing from 2009 (i.e. Gateway Ordinance) is not in the plan. SEH will start <br />working on the. Comp Plan after Gem Lake does more research on their own. <br />Goals for 2010: Chairman Rafferty suggested that Gem Lake resolves the bike <br />trails and the safety to the community. Also mentioned was the opportunity to <br />get the community together.
