Also include that there will be a public <br />hearing at the August City Council meeting for the Storm Water Discharge <br />System, and advertise the National Night Out in August. <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Amendment to Gambling Ordinance - Ordinance Number 117: Currently. <br />Gem Lake has two percent. The amendment will raise the percentage to ten <br />percent of net profits. <br />Public Hearing opened at 7:20 p.m. <br />The money has been distributed to the following organizations: <br />• Lake Area Transit Bus Company <br />• White Bear Lake Food Shelf <br />• Gospel Mission <br />• High School Scholarship <br />• National Night Out <br />• Elementary School that covers the city <br />The money goes to non-profit organizations. The neighboring cities are ten <br />percent and that is the maximum under state law. <br />Closed Public Hearing at 7:23 p.rn. <br />Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by <br />Councilmember Lindner, motion for Ordinance Number 117 passes. Ayes — 3, <br />Nays --- 0. <br />The summary was passed out to the City Council to look over and upon motion. <br />by Councilmember Lindner and seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swornley <br />motion was made to publish the summary for Ordinance Number 117 passes. <br />Ayes-3, Nays-0. <br />Amendment to Liquor Ordinance — Amendment Ordinance 116: This is <br />amending the Ordinance to increase the civil penalties. With this amendment the <br />city has the option to charge up to $2,000 per violation in a twenty-four month <br />period. The City Council can also suspend a license up to sixty days. <br />Public Hearing opened at 7:28 p.m. <br />Representatives from the Country Lounge had questions regarding this due to <br />the Ramsey County stings at the establishments in and around their area.
