PUBLIC HEARING Amendment to Gambling Ordinance - Ordinance Number 117: Currently. Gem Lake has two percent. The amendment will raise the percentage to ten percent of net profits. Public Hearing opened at 7:20 p.m. The money has been distributed to the following organizations: • Lake Area Transit Bus Company • White Bear Lake Food Shelf • Gospel Mission • High School Scholarship • National Night Out • Elementary School that covers the city The money goes to non-profit organizations. The neighboring cities are ten percent and that is the maximum under state law. Closed Public Hearing at 7:23 p.rn. Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember Lindner, motion for Ordinance Number 117 passes. Ayes — 3, Nays --- 0. Ayes-3, Nays-0. Amendment to Liquor Ordinance — Amendment Ordinance 116: This is amending the Ordinance to increase the civil penalties. With this amendment the city has the option to charge up to $2,000 per violation in a twenty-four month period. The City Council can also suspend a license up to sixty days. Public Hearing opened at 7:28 p.m. Representatives from the Country Lounge had questions regarding this due to the Ramsey County stings at the establishments in and around their area.
