CITY OF GEM LAKE, MN <br />4200 Otter Lake Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110-3227 <br />Telephone 651-747-2790 <br />E-mail City(gemlakeMN.org <br />Minutes of Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />15 February 2011 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Gem Lake was called to order by <br />Mayor Uzpen on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 7:03 pm in the Gem Lake City Hall <br />meeting room. <br />The following members were present: Mayor Robert Uzpen, Councilmembers James <br />Lindner, Gretchen Artig-Swomley, and Richard Bosak. Councilman Thomas <br />Rasmussen was absent. Members of the public 'attending per the sign in sheet sent <br />around the room. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MEETING MINUTES <br />City Council Agenda: Mayor Uzpen called for additions, deletions and corrections to <br />the agenda. Councilmember Artig-Swomley wanted to make an addition to the end of <br />the agenda. Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Bosak, the agenda with corrections was approved for February 15, <br />2011. Ayes — 4, Nays — 0.. <br />City Council January Meeting Minutes: The January 2011 minutes were tabled until <br />the March City Council meeting. <br />Planning Commission January Meeting Minutes: There was no meeting held by the <br />Planning Commission in January. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Newsletter: Councilmember Artig-Swomley is looking for more. City news to add to the <br />newsletter. Mayor Uzpen stated that Gem Lake is looking for a Chairman for the <br />Planning Commission. All applications need to be sent to Mayor Uzpen. In addition, <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley needs to finish the story on Greg Smith, a Gem Lake <br />resident who is on vacation and will be back in a week. In addition, an article will be <br />written on the Hillary Farm decision. Mayor Uzpen suggested an article on the <br />possibility of severe spring storms in the area. He does not foresee any flooding issues <br />in Gem Lake, but requested that Councilmember Lindner work on an article for the <br />Newsletter. <br />
