Gem Lake City Council Meeting Page 3 of 5 Monthly Financial Reports: The City Council received and reviewed the report: Mayor Uzpen stated the City received more money from property taxes. There were no questions from the City Council.. Hansen LLC Requests for Development Meeting: Mr. Hansen has requested an informal meeting with the City Council at the January or February workshop to discuss development in Gem Lake. City Attorney Trevor Oliver stated that two people from the Planning Commission and two people from the City Council should attend this meeting. Mayor Uzpen and Councilmember Artig-Swomley would represent the. City Council and Chairperson Faith Kuny would represent the Planning Commission. Also included in this meeting would be Tom Riedesel and Bill Short from White. Bear Township, City Attorney Trevor Oliver and Justin Giese from SEH if necessary. Mayor Uzpen will send an email to Tom Riedesel to see what dates work for the Township. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC Justin Giese from SEH explained there are some issues with Excel Energy. Excel was making some repairs and underground cable on the corner of Little Fox and. Big Fox. There is an easement 10 feet beyond the right-of-way for utilities and the homeowner came out and tried to halt their work stating that they were on private property. SEH has had discussions back and forth asking Excel to prove where they placed the utility and was it within the easement or within the street right-of-way. The EIS mapping system SEH uses which shows the easements and the roadways, but the roadways are not necessarily centered in the right-of- way. For a contractor to measure 20 feet off the edge of the roadway and determine where the easement is, it is not necessarily the correct way to do it. Excel has been reluctant to show SEH where their utilities are suppose to be. Justin is asking for guidance from Mayor Uzpen and Attorney Oliver how to proceed in the future with Excel. Mayor Uzpen has asked Excel to survey Little Fox Road and Big Fox Road. Attorney Oliver stated that there is an Ordinance that was done in regards to this about two years ago, Attorney Oliver will look further into this. Mayor Uzpen asked Attorney Oliver if Gem Lake should have a letter to give out to. Excel when they are getting a permit. La Roma. Restaurant: The owners had some questions regarding their licenses. Mayor Uzpen explained to the owners that they need to have the fire inspection completed and that there were "fixes" to the building that needed :to be done, Once everything is completed and signed off from the State, Health Department and. Fire Marshall, and re -inspected by the city inspector, then Mayor Uzpen will sign the Zoning Compliance Permit and they can pay for their permits at that time and receive their business license. Country Lounge Renew 2012 On -Sale Liquor -Tobacco -Charity Licenses: The City Council viewed the paperwork and everything was in order. Upon motion by Councilmember Bosak and seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, On -Sale Liquor/Tobacco and Charity licenses for 2012 passes. Ayes -- 5, Nays — 0.
