Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />Newsletter: Councilmember Artig-Swomley stated that Mayor Uzpen would write an article <br />about 2011 in review stating the highlights from the year. In addition, an article about the fish <br />studies recommendation. Councilmember Artig-Swornley would like to do an article regarding <br />the recycling in Gem Lake. Mayor Uzpen stated that the information would be in the 2012 <br />Score Funding Grant application. Also, Councilmember Artig-Swomley would like to include a <br />human -interest story. <br />Mayor Uzpen suggested writing an article about the Labore Road extension. There is a <br />committee working on the extension by Vadnais Heights and White Bear Township. Bill Short, <br />the Clerk from White Bear Township is in charge of the project. The Engineer for the project is <br />Mark Graham. <br />PUBLIC HEARING. <br />None <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Resolution No. 2011-14 Score Grant: The City Council reviewed the Resolution and upon <br />motion by Councilmember Lindner and seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, <br />Resolution No. 2011-14 Score Grant passes. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />Resolution 2011-15 Zoning Compliance Permit Fee for 2011: As long as the businesses <br />comply with the Gateway Ordinance, the Zoning Administrator can approve the business, The <br />permit fee will be $100. Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by <br />Councilmember Lindner, Resolution No. 2011-15 Zoning Compliance Permit Fee for 2011 <br />passes. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />Resolution 2011-16 Zoning Compliance Permit Fee for 2012: This Resolution is for 2012 <br />with the same wordage as Resolution 2011-15 for 2011. Upon motion by Councilmember <br />Bosak and seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, Resolution 2011-16 Zoning <br />Compliance Permit Fee for 2012 passes. Ayes — 5, Nays — 0. <br />Memorandum and Resolution 2011-17 Operating Fund Transfers for 2011: Mayor Uzpen <br />explained to the City Council that Gem Lake is transferring money from the general fund to <br />reserve for future improvements. Therefore, the City will have money for improvements and <br />not have to have a designated fund. Upon motion by Councilmember Bosak and seconded by <br />Councilmember Rasmussen, Memorandum and Resolution 2011.17 Operating Fund Transfers <br />for 2011 passes. Ayes — 5, Nays -- 0. <br />Claims for December: The claims for December were discussed and authorized to pay. <br />Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember Lindner,. <br />motion passes.
