City of Gem Lake City Council meeting minutes October 20, 2020 Page 2 <br /> <br />Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Amlee to approve the Archery Hunt for 7 Daniels <br />Farm Road for October 30, October 31st till 11:00 a.m., November 1st, 6th, 7th, 13, 14, &15th 2020. Voice <br />vote taken, all voted yes. Motion passes, hunt approved. Mayor Artig-Swomley will be passing the <br />Archery Hunt Ordinance for a further review to the planning commission to look at limiting the number <br />of hunters, stand distance from property lines and buildings. <br /> <br />Audit Company Selection Results – Tom Kelly <br />An RFP was sent to seven firms, five responded, Schlenner Wenner & Co., MMKR & Co. P.A., Bergan <br />KDV, Abdo Eick & Meyers LLP. A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by <br />Councilmember Kuny to choose MMKR & Co. P.A. for the City of Gem Lake’s audit firm. A voice vote <br />was taken, all voted yes. Motion passes. MMKR & Co. P.A. has been retained at the City of Gem Lake’s <br />auditor. <br /> <br />Gem Lake Trail (located in Gem Lake Villas) <br />Council discussed opening the trail to year round use. Plowing of the trail is still being ironed out. A <br />motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Kuny to open the Gem Lake <br />Villas trail for year round use. Voice vote taken, all voted yes. Motion passes. Gem Lake Villas trail open <br />for year round usage. <br /> <br />COVID Strategies for Gem Lake Businesses <br />To offset some of the expenses Gem Lake businesses have experienced this year, the business licenses <br />for 2021 will be reduced by $25.00. A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by <br />Councilmember Kuny to reduce the 2021 business licenses for Gem Lake businesses from $100.00 to <br />$75.00. A voice vote was taken, all voted yes. Motion passes. Gem Lake business licenses for 2021 will <br />be $75.00. <br /> <br />Hoffman Road Mill and Overlay – Justin Gese <br />Bids will be let in March, 2021, construction to start in May. A motion was made by Councilmember <br />Linder, seconded by Councilmember Kuny to authorize S.E. H. to start the Mill and Overlay process for <br />Hoffman Road. Voice vote taken, all voted yes. Motion passes. S.E.H. to start the process for mill and <br />overlay for Hoffman Road. <br /> <br />Culvert Report <br />Tabled until November, 2020. <br /> <br />Gem Lake Villas Developers Agreement Report <br />Most of the trees planted, will review again in spring, 2021. <br /> <br />Mayor Bob Bench Dedication <br />Bench looks wonderful, will have a dedication ceremony in the spring of 2021. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Elections Contract <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Kuny to approve the five <br />year contract with Ramsey County for Elections. Voice vote taken, all voted yes. Contract approved.
