City of Gem Lake City Council meeting minutes January 15, 2019 Page 1 <br /> <br />City of Gem Lake <br /> City Council Meeting – January 15, 2019 <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Uzpen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmembers Artig-Swomley, Cacioppo, Lindner <br />and Kuny were present. Others in attendance: City Attorney Patrick Kelly, County Commissioner Blake <br />Huffman, residents/presenters/guests Laurel Amlee, John Birkeland, Rick Bosak, Paul Emeott, Ryan Grittman, <br />Fritz and Hilary Magnuson, Linda McGinty, Brad Naylor, Nicole and Patty Nelson, Pete Oswald and Steve <br />Sabraski. <br /> <br />January 15, 2019, Agenda <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Cacioppo to approve the <br />agenda, motion passed. Agenda approved. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, seconded by Councilmember Cacioppo to <br />approve the December 18, 2018, City Council minutes. Motion passes, minutes approved. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Commissioner Blake Huffman – Swearing in of New Council Members <br />Commission Huffman swore in the new councilmembers, Mr. Len Cacioppo and Ms. Gretchen Artig- <br />Swomley. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br />None <br /> <br />Commissioner Huffman – Update on County Issues/Projects <br />Commissioner Huffman updated the council on the Ramsey County dome, TCAAP, Rush Line, Recycling, <br />new county commissioner, Roseville library, trail on County Road E, Council should reach out to his staff <br />in the fall, 2019, for a municipal 2020 project. Commissioner Huffman assured the council that the trail <br />will be first on the 2020 municipal project list. <br /> <br />Newsletter <br />2019 Goals, Gem Lake Villas, Trail on County Road E, Fire Contract Approval, Fireworks policy, speed <br />limit, sewer bill, comp plan. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br />Comp Plan Presentation – Ryan Grittman <br />Ryan Grittman, Northwest Associated Consultant, presented the Comprehensive Plan update. Next <br />step, sending the comp plan out to adjacent municipalities for their review, public hearing at the April <br />Planning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Approval of New Fire Contract with White Bear Lake <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, seconded by Councilmember Lindner to approve <br />the Fire Contract with White Bear Lake. Motion passes, Fire Contract approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
