City of Gem Lake City Council meeting minutes January 15, 2019 Page 3 <br /> <br />Luther Auto Group and Peter Oswald have signed a purchase agreement to purchase the Oswald <br />property at 3516 Highway 61, Gem Lake. A brief presentation was made of the proposal. Council <br />agreed they liked the initial concept. Anticipated construction is summer, 2019. John Birkeland, White <br />Bear Floral, Country Lounge, Café Cravings, asked the council to check with other municipalities on how <br />they handle assessments, briefly discussed a gravel car lot for Car Fit on Mr. Birkeland’s property, Paul <br />Emeott, comp plan/zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />Open Items for the Council Members to Bring Up <br />4140 Otter Lake Road, failed septic, progress on hooking up to the manhole, none, building inspector to <br />red tag the building, health and safety issue, Gem Lake Villas house lighting, too bright?, Councilmember <br />Lindner will measure with his light meter. Rush Line, original proposal was to go to Forest Lake, costs <br />are still the same but a shorter route. Concerns about the cost the Rush Line being much too expensive <br />and don’t support. <br /> <br />Claims <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley to approve <br />the claims for January. Motion passes. Claims approved. <br /> <br />Next Meetings/Workshop <br />February 11, 2019, workshop cancelled. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br />Being there no further business, following a motion from Councilmember Lindner, seconded by <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley, the meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, Gloria Tessier.
