City of Gem Lake City Council meeting minutes July 10, 2018 Page 1 <br /> <br />City of Gem Lake <br /> City Council Meeting – July 10, 2018 <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Artig-Swomley called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Councilmembers Cacioppo and Lindner <br />were present. Mayor Uzpen and Councilmember Kuny were ill. Others in attendance: Ron Bartosch, City <br />Attorney Patrick Kelly, Fritz Magnuson, City Engineer Justin Gese, City Planning Chairman Ben Johnson, <br />Joshua Eckton, Honey Bear Meadery, Paul Emeott, Dan Marier and an unnamed reporter from the White <br />Bear Press. <br /> <br />July 10, 2018, Agenda <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Cacioppo, seconded by Councilmember Lindner to approve the <br />agenda for July 10, 2018, motion passed. Agenda approved. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Cacioppo, seconded by Councilmember Lindner to approve the <br />June 19, 2018, City Council minutes. Motion passed, minutes approved. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br />Planning Commissioner Chair, Ben Johnson reported on the planning commission meeting that took <br />place on Monday, July 9. The council met to discuss making changes to the Consolidated Land Use <br />Ordinance, Section 9.6.5. The council agreed to add distillery, on and off sale liquor, microbrew, <br />meadery, convenience stores, fuel islands, coffee shop and restaurant. No wholesale distribution. The <br />council discussed the 60% glass coverage, noted that 60% is a guide, nor more than 60% and not less <br />than 35%. Council also had an informal discussion on land use, form base and future Hoffman Road <br />planning. HyVee granted the City of Gem Lake an extension to the 60 day rule. <br /> <br />Newsletter <br />June/August, Carol Nordstrom profile, update on the Villas, picture of the playground equipment at <br />Willow Lane School, auditors report, HyVee update, no solicitors sign, road construction update, policy <br />on special events. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br />Change August City Council meeting <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Lindner, seconded by Councilmember Cacioppo to change the <br />August city council meeting from August 21, 2018, to August 8, 2018. <br /> <br />HyVee Update <br />Moving forward in the process. <br /> <br />Claims <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Linder, seconded by Councilmember Cacioppo to approve the <br />claims for July. Motion passes. Claims approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
