City of Gem Lake City Council meeting minutes July 10, 2018 Page 2 <br /> <br />Open Items/Residents Comments <br />Joshua Eckton, Honey Bear Meadery, proposed business for 1595 E. County Road E, Gem Lake, <br />presented a proposal for a meadery at 1595 E. County Road E, Gem Lake, stated he supported the <br />zoning ordinance amendments. Fritz Magnuson, resident, as a result of the 4th of July storm and grading <br />within the Villas Development, he estimated that 16,000 gallons of water has settled in his back yard <br />and the adjacent property. City Engineer stated that a temporary remediation is currently in place. Mr. <br />Magnuson’s states that his property is still wet. City Engineer Gese responded that the conditions are a <br />result of the contractor’s means and methods, and that which we are not allowed to dictate. This was <br />caused by the contractor and measures are being taken to resolve the situation. Councilmember <br />Lindner had a brief meeting on the Rush Line project, discussing a potential bus stop in Gem Lake on 61. <br />Acting Mayor Artig-Swomley asked if this was for the $400 million bus route. Councilmember Lindner <br />noted that he saw an article about New Trax in the White Bear Press and a new bus line and the need <br />for donations. Acting Mayor Artig-Swomley stated that New Trax is part of the future Charitable <br />Donations. <br /> <br />Next Meetings/Workshop <br />Councilmember Lindner made a motion to cancel the August workshop and move the August City <br />Council meeting from August 21 to August 8, Councilmember Cacioppo, seconded.
