AGREEMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES This is.an Agreement. between the County of Ramsey (hereinafter..referred to as the "COUNTY"). and the City of Gem Lake (hereinafierrefeirred to as the:"MUNICIPALITY"), to provide law enforcemcnt services to the MUNICIPALITY for -the period commencing January 1, 2001. WITNFSSETH: WHEREAS, the COUNTY has a historical and legal -obligation �p provide police Protection to the MUNICIPALITIES. WHEREAS, the COUNTY has contracted to provide lawenforcement services to the cities of Arden Hills, Gem Lake, Little Canada, North Oaks; Vadnais Heights, and White Bear Township. (hereinafter referred to as the "MUNICIPALITI'ES"), and it would. be advantageous, to the MUNICIPALITY to also contract with the COUNTY for similar law enforcement services, thereby allowing for the. allocation of overhead and other administrative costs over a larger population; and WHEREAS., the parties to this Agreement intend to contract. with the COUNTY for law enforcement functions within the political boundaries of the MUNICIPALITY through th,e Itamsey County Sheriff and WHEREAS; the:COLJNTYis agreeable to renderingsuch sexvices on;the terms.and conditions hereinafter set forth; and. WHEREAS, such contracts -are authorized and provided for. by. -the provisions .of .vlinnesota Statutes Sections 471:59 and 436.05, and Laws 1959, Chaptei 372. NOW, THEREFORE TN CONSIDERATION OF themutual �mdertakittgs set forth. herein, the COUNTY and the M(JN.ICIPAI.;ITY agree.as follows: I. SCOPE.OFSERVICES l . The COUTiTYagrees, through the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department, to provide law enforcement services to the MLJNICIPALLTY whi6b -wih iinolude, but not be fitnited to, the following: A, Patrol services. with randora patrolling of residential areas, businesses,. parks; And other public prdperty areas.;. 13. Enforcement of Minnesota. State Statutesand the ordinances of the MUNICIPALITY. C 'Traffic Enforcement incfudii* the regular use. of radar or laser as a speed deterrent;
