Gretchen Artig-Swomley, Newsletter Editor There will be a Neighborhood Meeting on May 14 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the possibility of bringing municipal water to the Gem Lake Business District. The meeting will be held at Heritage Hall in Gem Lake and will be intended to inform citizens of Gem Lake of the project, and to seek input on the improvements. At this meeting a detailed potential time line will be laid out, summarizing the many steps involved in this municipal water project, which could conclude as early as late fall of this year, or as late as Spring of 2016, depending upon several factors. The process began when property owners in the business district expressed an interest in having municipal water on their property. (Continued on page 2) (Continued on page 2) First Neighborhood Meeting on Water Project: Potential Timeline Discussed Good Samaritan Cleans Up Gem Lake Last month, Gem Lake resident Deanna Tangwell took it upon herself to do a city wide clean-up of local streets. A dedicated jogger, Deanna, who lives in the Hillary Farm development, jogs all the way around the city, including long stretches of LaBore and Goose Lake Roads. In the absence of a city sponsored clean-up day, she decided to do it herself, collecting more than six large bags of trash. Her help was greatly appreciated and helped to make Gem Lake even more beautiful. Thanks Deanna!
