Many communities in Ramsey County, including Gem take, require licenses for residential. <br />properties that are rented out; such ordinances can be amended to cover ar exclude short-term <br />residential rentals.: <br />ISSUES TO CONSIDER <br />There.are a couple things to consider in terms of what, if any, regEJlati.ons should be adapted in rQgards to <br />these. uses. <br />Allow or not allow <br />Some comniunities have gone.sc, far.as to not allow short term renting .af residential properties at all, <br />r Such a restrictive Ordinande would require notifying of the public that they are not allowed. Enforcement <br />of such an ordinance would likely -require someone to monitor listing sites for listings p.f stays within the <br />City; wnrild this be a reasonable use: of staff tirne? The Commission.may want to discuss whether it would <br />be. necessary to not allow them?
