Use, Principal - The main use of land or buildings as distinguished from subordinate or accessory uses.
<br />Utilize Basin - Documented stormwater management structures designated strictly for treating and retaining stormwater.
<br />Villa - A building which contains a row of two (2), three (3) or four (4) single-family attached dwellings, each being connected to the
<br />adjoining units in each story by walls that are fire -rated and are without openings. Each unit shall have independent access to the exterior
<br />of the building, in the ground story, and each unit is located on a separate lot. Each common wall shall serve as a common/zero lot line.
<br />Vehicle, Commercial Vehicle - A motor vehicle exceeding one and one-half ton or equivalent in load capacity or a motor vehicle not
<br />displaying passenger car or RV license plates.
<br />Vehicle, Motor Vehicle - Any self-propelled vehicle not operated exclusively upon railroad tracks and any vehicle propelled or drawn
<br />by a self-propelled vehicle, but excepting snowmobiles and mobile homes.
<br />Vehicle, Junked Motor Vehicle - Any motor vehicle which is either abandoned, wrecked, partially dismantled or legally inoperative,
<br />or which is not currently licensed for operation within the State of Minnesota.
<br />Wall Sign - Any sign attached to or painted on the wall of a building or structure in a plane parallel or approximately parallel to the
<br />plane of said wall.
<br />Wastewater - Any water or other liquid, other than uncontaminated storm water, discharged from a facility.
<br />Water Body - a body of water (such as a lake or pond) or a depression of land or expanded part of a river, or an enclosed basin that
<br />holds water.
<br />Waters Of The State - All stream, lakes, ponds, wetlands, watercourses, waterways, wells, springs, reservoirs, aquifers, irrigation
<br />systems, drainage systems and all other bodies or accumulations of water, surface or underground, natural or artificial, public or private,
<br />which are contained within, flow through, or border upon the state or any portion thereof. Streams include both intermittent and
<br />perennial.
<br />Watercourse - a channel or depression through which water flows continuously or intermittently, such as rivers, streams, or creeks.
<br />Watershed - the area drained by a natural or artificial drainage system, bounded peripherally by a ridge or stretch of high land dividing
<br />drainage areas.
<br />Way, Authorized Private - a road with a right-of-way not less than forty (40) feet wide across private land designed and built for
<br />vehicular traffic between a public street and two or more private residences. This road shall have been authorized or approved by the
<br />City Council, to be built and maintained by private interests. Authorized private ways are allowed only in residential districts.
<br />Wetland - Any wetland as defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 103G.005, subdivision 19.
<br />Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) - An electrical generating facility consisting of a turbine, tower, and associated control
<br />and conversion electronics.
<br />Window Sign - Any sign viewable through and/or/affixed in any manner to a window or exterior glass door such that it is intended to
<br />be viewable from the street, including signs located inside a building but primarily visible outside of the building.
<br />Woodland - An area of at least one-half ('h) acre in size of land, utility easements, or rights -of -way, with at least twenty (20) significant
<br />trees on the parcel or with tree cover over at least thirty-five (35%) percent of the total land area.
<br />Yard - A required open space on a lot, which is unoccupied and unobstructed by a structure from its lowest ground level to the sky
<br />except as expressly permitted in this Ordinance. A yard shall extend along a lot line and at right angles to such lot line to a depth or
<br />width specified in the yard regulations for the district in which such lot is located.
<br />Yard, Front - A yard extending along the full width of the front lot line between side lot lines and extending from the abutting front
<br />street right-of-way line to a depth required in the yard regulations for the district in which such a lot is located. In the case of a corner
<br />lot abutting one or more major roads, both yards shall be considered front yards. A major road is any road that is of a collector designation
<br />or greater.
<br />Yard, Rear - A yard extending along the full width of the rear lot line between the side lot lines and extending toward the front lot line
<br />for a depth as specified in the yard regulations for the district in which such lot is located.
