Revised 8/24/11 <br />§501.050 PUBLIC HEALTH, WELFARE AND SANITATION §501.090 <br /> <br /> <br />§501.050 GARBAGE COLLECTION; SERVICE. It shall be the responsibility of every resident to <br />notify the City at least one (1) week in advance of starting or discontinuing garbage collection <br />service. (Ref. Ord Nos. 495, 6/9/70; 554, 7/10/73) <br /> <br />§501.060 REFUSE COLLECTION; MAINTENANCE OF SANITARY CONDITIONS. Persons <br />accumulating garbage or refuse shall comply with the following requirements: <br /> <br />1. No person shall place any refuse in any street, alley, or other public place, or upon <br />any private property whether owned by such person or not, unless it be in proper <br />containers for collection or under express approval granted by the City Manager. Nor <br />shall any person throw or deposit any refuse in any stream or other body of water. <br /> <br />2. No person shall cast, place, sweep or deposit any garbage or refuse in any manner that <br />it may be carried or deposited by the elements off his property within the City. <br /> <br />3. No person shall bury or burn any refuse or yard waste in the City except in accordance <br />with regulations established by the State Pollution Control Agency. <br /> <br />4. The removal of wearing apparel, bedding or other refuse from homes or places where <br />highly infectious or contagious diseases have prevailed shall be performed under the <br />supervision and direction of the Health Officer. Such refuse shall not be placed in <br />containers for regular collections. (Ref. §602.060, Code 1966; Ord. Nos. 495, 6/9/70; <br />554, 7/10/73) <br /> <br />§501.070 REFUSE COLLECTION; FEES. All residential property within the city on which housing <br />with one to four units is located shall be provided with and subject to the cost of weekly <br />refuse collection provided by the City at the price provided herein. <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. Refuse Collection Rates. <br /> <br />1. All refuse collection services provided each residential customer from single- <br />family through four-plexes shall be charged at the following monthly rates: <br /> <br />Non- <br /> Taxable Taxable Total <br />30-gallon – senior $7.60 $1.90 $9.50 <br />30-gallon 7.75 1.95 9.70 <br />60-gallon 11.40 2.85 14.25 <br />90-gallon 15.50 3.90 19.40 <br /> <br />2. All amounts due hereunder shall be payable to the City on the fifth (5th) day of <br />the month following the month in which the statement is presented. A penalty <br />of ten (10%) percent shall be added to all bills not paid by the date fixed for <br />final payment and garbage and refuse service may be stopped without notice. <br /> <br /> <br />§501.090 PUBLIC HEALTH, WELFARE AND SANITATION §501.090
