RAMSEY COUNTY
Mr. Reggie Edwards
29 June 1994
SERVICE DELIVERY
As the bulkof land to be developed within the City is large residential parcels, excluding the commercial area at
Noffrnan Corners (County E & Highway 61) and since no major development is planned or being pursued, .we find no need
for additional service delivery at this time
LOCATION OF PUBLIC UTILITIES
With the exception of the significant number of overhead electric, telephone and cableutilities, we also find no
probleminthis area. Placing overhead transmission: cables underground might be desirable in most areas to: pr-event storm
interruption.. of services. Most of our cityemploys individual septic systems and has:. their own wells.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
With the exception of possible redevelopment of the Hoffman Corners business area in Gem Lake to upgrade
businesses and facilities, we oppose any significant commercial development in the area as .we fed itwill adversely affect the
quality residential environment we have developed, fought for over time.; and continue to nurture through thoughtful planning
and restrictive actions. Residents of Gene Lake enjoy a quality of life and neighborhood that, f believe, needs tobe protected
For f rrther comments, please contact Mr. Paul t2, Emeott /Mayor) 'or' Mr. David Gardner {Chairman, Gem Lake
Planning Conwiission}.
Regards;
CITY OF GEM LAKE.
Frederic C.
