TIDE ONE HUNDRED AED NINTH MEETING - VILLAGE OF 'GEM LAKE COUNCIL - SEPTEMBER 17th, 1968 - HOFFMP_NS CORNERS HALL. 1. THE MAYOR CALLED THE I-1EETING TO ORDER AT 8:07 PM. 2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL - PRESENT - H. Hoffman, Arcard, Bigelow, Morgan and. Knutson. ABSENT - JOhn Ward. Also present Don Carley, Allen Hansen,Dwyer, Ross, LaBore,and others from Scheuneman Road. 3. VICTOR KNUTSON READ THE MINUTES Or THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD AUGUST 26th, 1968 - Moved by Arcand and seconded by Bigelow that same be approved as read. 4. Presentations from the floor - none 5. REPORTS OF COP24ITTEES - a. No report from Planning committee on playground. 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - a. Don Carley presented to the council and those present maps showing the proposed sewer lines from Little Canada and Vadn&is Heights which will serve Gem Lake. One Line will come in from the north under the Railroad tracks at the low point between Brauns and Parenteaus ( Dwyers). The other line ( ihich becomes two lines ) comes up higway #61 ( one on the East side and one on the West side). The East side would serve the Village proper and Chrysler and up Scheumeman Road to #61 ( if desired) and the West side line would serve Tousley Ford and the Dairy along East County Rd E, but cobly a L ort distance because the high point is just west of Hansen+s house. Carley reported that the estekmated cost to Gem Lake of these lines could be as follows:- ( see also attached report) To Little Canada $53,096 to Vadnais Heights 62,689 Local Laterals in Gem Lake 70,691.75 Grand Total 4 18-G, 7 .75 Carley pointed out that there were a number of ways of financing this deal and gave some figures on front foot costs which are on the attached sheet. Carley asked that we pass a resolution declaring Gem Lake's intent to tie into the sewer system with Little Canada and Vadnais Heights and that this is consistent with the St. Paul Metropolitan Sewer Report dated 1964 and with the Water Pollution Control Comission in 1966. Said resoltuion was moved by Morgan and seconded by Bigelow and a copy is attached hereto and is a part of these minutes. All ayes. Carley suggested that the council meet again in about three weeks to discuss and make plans for a public hearing to present various plans to the residents. It is assumed that Dairy,Tousley,Chrysler Shopping Center etc., want sewer but we have nothing in $,/Titi ng to this effect.
