THE ONE HUND EI) AND TENTH MEETING - VILLAGE OF GEM LAKE COUNCIL - OCTOBER 15th, 1968 - HOFFM4NS CORNERS HALL. Z. THE MAYOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:07 PM. 2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL - PRESENT - Hoffman, Bigelow, Knutson and Morgan. Plus a large gathering of residents - maybe 25 - 30. ABSENT - Arcand and Ward. 3. 21E CLERK IC -AD THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER XXxX4XXXXX 17th, 1968 - Mayor Hoffman asked the Clerk to make a correction to the effect that the gas line for NSP runs north along the east side of scheuneman road. Bigelow moved and Hoffman seconded that the minutes be approved as corrected. All ayes. 4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR - 5. REPORTS Or C0I�94ITTLES - a. Chairman Bemis reported that he had not had time to get a meeting of his committee because as usual Chyysler wanted an answer quickly after submitting the request at the last moment. Bemis recommended that the council approved the request ( from the LeRoy Sign Co) as follow: See letter from Leroy attached hereto and made a part of these minutes - Approve item#1 with 2 exceptions. Approve item #2 as is. Approve otem-#3 with hight limited to 15 feet Approve item #4 with one exception. Approve item #5 with hight limite;l_ to 15±k feet. These exceptions match those granted to Tousley Ford and appear in order - moved by Bigelow and seconded b# Morgm that the Planning Committee recommendation be approved. All ayes. 6. UNFINISHED BUM ESS - a. Mayor Hoffman pointed out that we had no new information on the sewer situation, but were in the process of gath- ering together all the information that is available. The clerk pointed out that with our form of government in the Village the Council was all powerful and could make decisions without consulting the residents. However the rules do call for hearings on any major decisions and km hearings will of cD urse be held. The clerk stated that he would try to put all the pertinent facts on paper and see that each roter got a copy BEFORE the hearings. R. Hansen mentioned a referendum - though hearings are call - for - do not know just what can be done about a referen- dum or if one is called for. So many stories have been passed around about the sewer that the situation is thoroughly tangled up and must now wait for clarification,
