J <br />THE ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTH I,iEETING - VILLAGE OF GEM LAKE <br />COUNCIL - JUNE 18th, 1968 - HOFFMANS CORNERS TALL <br />1. THE MAYOR CALLED THE YEETING TO ORDER AT 8:16 PM <br />2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL - <br />PRESENT - Hoffman, Bigelow, Arcand,Morgan and Knutson. <br />ABSENT - Ward. <br />Also present Ed Dwyer, Joe McGinnis, Ulrich. <br />3. THE CLERK READ THE MINUTES OF THE OREVIOUS I -FETING HELD <br />MAY 21st 1968 - Moved by Bigelow and seconded by Hoffman <br />that the same be approved as read . All ayes. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR - none <br />5. REPORTS OF COMT•iITTEES - <br />a. Henry Hoffman and Vic Knutson attended a small sewer <br />meeting with VadnlAs Heights and Little Canada and the <br />Township. It appears from Knutson's report that Vadnais <br />b,bok securer a Federal grant to pay for partof a 42 inch <br />sewer line th ich will be large enough to take care of <br />all Villages to the north for many years. We are asked to <br />declare our intent to become a part of this overall plan <br />which appears to be called the Ashb rook-Ashback plan. <br />Carley is to find out what this uill cost us and how it <br />can be allocated. <br />Hoffman moved and Bigelow seconded "That it is the intent <br />the Village of Gem Lake to join with Vadndls H&Ights, Little <br />Canada and others !x in the plan to bring sewer to this area". <br />All ayes. <br />Morgan stated that Carley had informed him that he would <br />have the information shortly and that we would then call a spe- <br />cial meeting of the council to consIde r it. <br />Hoffman suggested that we use Fred Memmer as our attorney <br />because he is thoroughly familiar with the whole thing. Morgan <br />felt it would be wise to ask Butler if this was a good idea., xr- <br />and will do so. <br />6. Unfinished BUSINESS - none <br />7. NEW BUSINESS - Morgan reported regarding the plan to have <br />John Skrypek of the Conservation department take a l6ok <br />at Gem Lake and advise regarding the growth of weeds etc. <br />8. REPORTS OF VILLAGE <br />OFFICERS - <br />a. Clerk's balance <br />$637.68 after bills <br />b. Treasurer's balance <br />$1,182.50 before <br />bills. <br />c. Bills authorized <br />were - <br />City Treasurer <br />- June Fire <br />746 <br />75.00 <br />Municipal Court <br />- May expense <br />747 <br />57.45 <br />Midwest Plan & <br />res. April time <br />748 <br />166.46 <br />2 1 <br />9. MEETING ADJOURNED <br />AT 9:15 PM - Arcand and Morgan. <br />6Zt <br />
