FORTY-" FOURTH MEETING - VILLAGE OF GEM LAKE COUNCIL <br />APRIL 16th 1963 - ::CFFMANS CORNERS HALL, <br />1. THE MAXOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:33 PM. <br />2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL - <br />PRESENT - Hoffman, Arcand, Gray, Dave Hoffman, Morgan and <br />Clarence Wild. <br />ABSENT - Hansen. <br />3. THE CLERK READ THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS T'`,-EETING HELD 1v.1;r�_CJ <br />19th 1963 - Moved by Gray and Seconded by Hoffman that same be <br />approved as read. All ayes. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOD - <br />a. Re Civil Defense matters - The Council discussed letters received <br />from Opstad to Hoffman of April 9th and 10thand a letter from <br />the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners of April llth and listened <br />to information given by Clarence Wild. In conclusion the Clerk <br />was instructed to adv1se the County Commissioners that this <br />Village was opposed to a "combining of the administrative facilit- <br />ies of the Ramsey County Civil Defense with the Civil dCfense <br />Department of the City of St. Paul". So moved by Arcand and second- <br />ed by Gray. All ayes. <br />5. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES - none <br />6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - none <br />7. NEW BUSINESS - <br />a. The council requested the clerk to write to Sheriff Hedman or <br />Captain Milton Bohn requesting that an electric timer he used <br />in the Village of Gem Lake for the purpose of slowing down <br />traffic a bit. <br />8. In discussing the bills to be authorized which included salaries <br />for the period ended March 31st 1963, Mayor Hoffman objected to <br />the increase granted to him at the January 15th meeting when he <br />was absent. After some discussion it was kioved by Arcand and <br />seconded by Gray that the increases for both the Mayor and the <br />clerk be to $20,00 per month instead of $25,00 per month.
