SIXTY-FIRST IKEETING - VILLAGE OF GEM LAKE COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 15th 1964 - HOFFMANS CORNERS HALL <br />1. THE MAYOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:20 PM <br />2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL - <br />PRESENT - Mayor Hoffman, Arcand and Hansen and Morgan <br />ABSENT - John, Gray and Dave Hoffman. <br />Also present were Ray Tessier, Clarence Wild and Art Birkeland. <br />3. MOVED BY HANSEN AND SECONDED BY ARCAND THAT THE READING OF THE <br />MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD AUGUST 27th 1964., be <br />DISPENSED .411ITH. ALL AYES. <br />. PRESENTATTIONS FROM THE FLOOR - <br />a. Art Birkeland presented a set of drawings for the new Burlap <br />Lounge, explained that these were the final drawings except <br />for possible minor changes, but that he would not be able to <br />start this fall. He has a problem with the County Ditch and <br />proper surveys which cannnot be settled promptly and he does <br />not want to build in mid -winter. After some discussion it <br />1 was moved by Hansen and seconded by Arcand that construction <br />of the building; must be started by June lst 1965 and completed <br />by November lst 1965. All ayes. The clerk was asked to so <br />advise Birkeland in writing and aslo to ask him for a plot -plan <br />showing location of the building on the lot, with parking areas <br />etc. <br />( 5. REPORTS OF COT,1MITTEES - none. <br />6. UNIFINISHED BUSINESS - none <br />7. NEW BUSINESS <br />a. The following Judges were appolhitted by the council - <br />Mrs. John H. Danie.11, Miss Eileen Bigelow and Mrs. Charles <br />Sschifsky, with alternates of Mrs. Stan Donnelly, Mrs. Don <br />Opstad and Mrs. John Morgan. ( Counting teams to be chosen <br />later ). <br />b. Notices for the filing of candidates for offices were <br />authorized. <br />c. Notice of Village Election was authorized. <br />Above moved by Arcand and seconded by Hansen. Ali. ayes. <br />8. REPORTS OF VILLAGE OFFICERS - <br />a. Hansen moved and Arcand- seconded as follows:" RESOLIZED, that <br />the following sums be, and hereby are levied upon the taxable <br />property of the Village of Gem lake - General Fund 43,500 for <br />1965".
