EIGHTY-FIFTH MEETING - VILLAGE OF GEM LAKE COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 16th, 1966 - HOFF INS CORNERS HALL <br />1. THE MAYOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8 :43 PM. <br />2, THE EERK CA-i LED THE ROLL - <br />PRESENT - Hoffman, Arca.nd and Morgan <br />ABSENT Gray and Ward <br />3. ARCAND 14OVED I -,ND HOFrTIAN SECONDED THAT THE MINUTES OF THE <br />PREVIOUS =I19G, HELD JULY 19th, 1966, BE APPROVED AS <br />READ. ALI- AYES. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR - none <br />5. REPORTS OF COMP4ITTEES - none <br />6. UAIFINISHED BUSINESS - <br />a. A RCIyND MOVED AND Hoffman seconded that the resolution <br />sent to us by the League of Minnesota Municipalities with <br />regard& to the "Metropolitan Section " of the league <br />as to by-laws and annual dues, be approved. All ayes. <br />7. NEW BUSINESS ar <br />a. THE Council unanimously voted to appoint Miss Eileen <br />J-� Bigelow to fill the vacanyy on the council due to the <br />resignation of Allen R. Hanson. whose term ran to Dec. <br />31st 1968, <br />b. The council voted to have the Village election on Nov. <br />8th 1966, at the same time as the National Elections. <br />To be elected this year - <br />Mayor - 2-years, Treas. - 2 years, Trustee Gray - 3 years, <br />c. Polls are required by law to be open from 7 AY, to 8 PM. <br />d. The council voted to request a budget of w,,000 for the c6aing <br />year which is the same as last year. Same will be sent <br />promptly to the tax division of the County Auditorts office. <br />8. REPORTS OF VILLAGE OFFICERS - <br />a. Tine council authorized Mayor Hoffman to have Milner <br />Carley make a survey for the old county drainage ditch <br />through Birkeland's property as soon as possible. <br />b. Mayor Hoffman asked the Clerk to find out if it is necessary <br />to vacate an alley on Dave Hoffman's property. <br />c. No treasurers report. <br />d. Bills authorized were ; <br />City Treasurer - August fire - #578 y; 75.00 <br />Ramsey Uounty Treasurer- Poliee 579 374,62 <br />Minn. Leag, of Munic. - dues 580 53.00 <br />Municipal Court expense -(receipts 32.00) 581 57.38 <br />W.C.
