THE CLERK C'1LIED THE ROLL <br />PRESENT - Hoffman, Arcand, Bray and. J. Ward. <br />ABSENT - Allen Hansen. <br />Also present, Mr. J. R. Stockstead of the MDF Development Co., and <br />Art Bi_rkeland and Ray Tessier. <br />3. Cray moved and A.rcand seconded that the .reading of the minutes <br />of the previous meetilig held Inlay 17th, be dispensed with. A11:. ayes. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOP - Jodge Kirby did not show up. <br />5. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES - <br />a. Mr. :Stock stead presented his request for a 'special use permit's <br />in person. Bemis had sent a letter to the planning cormnittee -,.bout <br />this matter and asked the council to give it serious consideration. <br />Stockstead has a purchase agreement onthecorner described as lots <br />5 & 6 Audttrtr's subdivision No.84., subject to hi_s getting favorable <br />action on a ppecial rise permit, to put a gas station on this corner. <br />Mayor Hoffman pointed out that there waa already a gas station in the <br />Village and many others adjacent to the Village and that he would be <br />opposed to the establishffiknt of another such facility at this time. <br />Stockstead presented his side of the question well and asked for <br />prompt action if possible. In view of the fact that the council itself <br />had had not oportunity to discuss this problem, Mayor Hoffman advised <br />Stookstead that the council would have an answer for him at the July <br />meeting. ( July 3.9th). Stockstead did not seem very happy. Some <br />discussion about a permit with some firm restrictions - Henry T,ri.l:l <br />get legal advice on 1;his. <br />6. tTNIFINSuE'D BUSINESS - <br />?, We understand that the Municir�kl Court takes over on July lst. <br />7. NEW BUSINESS - <br />-. Re County Drainage Ditch. This matter is being handled by Marion <br />Kotilinek - assistant County engineer in Deane ?nklan's office - <br />484-3311. The R.R. (No.pac.) will do the enmineering, the Co�.nty <br />will. bui lLthe ditch and. Gem Lake will. do the maintenance. This Is <br />the old Countv ditch which has been in existence for manor years and <br />is essential to the drainage ,problem. Notilinek states that the <br />Village must secure from the private property owners ( Art Birkel_and <br />and Urban ) easements in the name of the Village for the construction <br />and maintenance of said. ditch. !Tie most have the easement in order to <br />enter the pr�e.rty to constuct and maintain. When we have it in the <br />name of the ill.age we are to notify the County ( Kotzlir_ek) and the <br />R.R. ( Mir. J.P. Titus - district engineer at the N.P. office St. pau1111 <br />Mayor Hoi'rman wil-l_ take up this matter t,•i_th lawyer Mikeworth in White <br />Bear who is also Birkeland's lawyer and get him to draft the easements. <br />8. REPORTS OF VILLAGE OFFICERS - <br />a. Council approved of dis-nensinp; with duplicate vouches.. <br />b. Clerk reported his balance after authorizations of 1 1057.39 <br />c. Trea`ilrer _reported his balance at 1,532.47 <br />
