Villas of Gen Lake, Gem Lake, MN <br />Wetland/Outlot Operation & Maintenance Manual <br />Replacement Area/Wetland Monitoring Plan <br />1Weiland replacement areas and 4utlot limits are illustrated on attached Figures 3 and 4h. <br />1. CONSTRUCTION & SEEDING NOTES <br />Construction <br />l . Wetland replacement construction shall occur before or concurrent with wetland fill. <br />2. The contractor shall contact the wetland consultant before construction starts, after grading <br />is completed and before seeding is initiated. <br />3. Silt fence shall be installed prior to construction and maintained until viable cover has <br />established. Silt fence shall be removed upon final acceptance by the engineer. <br />4.. Silt fence that is initially installed above wetland replacement areas. shall be moved and. <br />reinstalled at the limits of the wetland buffer or outlot.boundary after wetland <br />replacement areas and outlots are graded (where applicable) and accepted. Any soil <br />ridge left at the initial silt fence Iodation shall be removed. <br />5. Contractor shall. verify or confirm existing elevations prior to initiating wetland <br />replacement excavation {if applicable}: <br />6.. Excess excavated soil shall be disposed of outside of wetlands. <br />7: After consultant approval of the as -built construction survey, the replacement wetlands, <br />upland buffers, and outlot areas. will be prepared and seeded as.described in this plan. <br />Upon completion of seed installation, a site visit will be conducted with the revegetation <br />service provider to.confrm seeding was consistent with the approved plan. <br />Seed Mixture Suppliers. and Approval <br />L. Contractor shall submit seed tags or written certification of native wetland seed mix <br />contents acid suppliers for approval by the wetland consultant prior to installation. <br />2. Substitutions of seed mixes or seed mix components. must be approved by the wetland <br />consultant. <br />Seedbed. Preparation <br />1. After completion of final grading, the seedbed shall be prepared and. smoothed to break <br />up root. systems and sail clods so. that the average clump is less than 2 inches in <br />diameter. <br />2. Prior.to seeding, the contractor shall kill and plow or.disc vegetation that covers more <br />than 20 percent. of the ground in the area to be seeded. <br />
