AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />RAMSEY COUNTY AND THE CITY OF GEM LAKE, <br />FOR A SCORE FLINDINGRECYCLING GRANT <br />This Agreement is between Ramsey County (the "County") and the City. of Gem Lake (the <br />"Municipality"). <br />1. OBLIGATIONS <br />a. Collection <br />1. The Municipality shall ensure residential. recycling service is available weekly. or every other <br />week to residents at their place. of residence, including: aII multi -unit dw.ellings::and <br />manufactured home parks. <br />The Municipality shall providerecycling for at. least thefollowing materials at curbside and <br />multi=unit. dwelling properties: <br />a. Paper. <br />b. Cardboard. <br />c. Glass bottles: <br />d. Metal cans:. <br />e. Cartons. <br />f. Plastic beverage and food containers. <br />g. Organics when present. <br />3. Ensure the collection of textiles for recycling is ava liable to reside nts.through curbside. <br />collection and to multi -unit dwellings through special collection or drop-off. <br />4. The Municipality shall. add additional recyclable materials as reliable markets become <br />available. <br />S. The Municipality shall maintain a longterm.'fUnding mechanism for its residential recycling <br />programs. <br />6, For eligibility for additional incentive resources, the Municipality commits.. to the.following <br />(choose up to two): <br />✓Bulky Waste. Col lection.1stablish an efficient and effective program to provide collection <br />of bulky waste items from single family homes.a.t no cost or. a discou.nted.prite and tliatalso <br />prioritizes recycling/reuse and/or mattress collection. <br />Engage Small Businesses.. Include small businesses in curbside.recycling services and. <br />actively engage those.businesse5 to participate in the service. <br />Promote .BizRecycling..Actively work with and.prornote BizRecycling to businesses and <br />institutions in collaboration with Ramsey/Wash.ington Recycling_.&. Energy for organics <br />recycling. and food. waste red uction..programs. <br />Promote Multi -unit Recycling: Actively work with and promote free resources and grants <br />to multi -unit building in collaboration with:Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy to <br />improve and/or.start recycling at multi-unit ..dwellings. <br />2023 SCORE Agreement <br />
