As property <br />owners connect to the new Gem Lake Water System, they will need to obtain a plumbing permit <br />and cover any costs associated with disconnecting or abandoning their existing well. Funding <br />options for well abandonment are still being evaluated. <br /> <br />Property owners will also be responsible for connecting their home’s plumbing to the municipal <br />service line at the right-of-way, which will be stubbed out as part of this project. In addition, <br />residents will need to install a water meter that is compatible with the Vadnais Heights metering <br />system. <br /> <br />The fees listed above are set by the City of Vadnais Heights. Administrative costs will be added, <br />and residents will be billed directly by the City of Gem Lake.
