Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />Sales sewer bill and decreasing the SAC unit costs moving forward. Mayor Uzpen told <br />Vera Auto Sales not to pay their current quarterly bill. Vera Auto Sales will receive the <br />next bill with a credit for the balance. <br />Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuny, SGS will be credited for $1,620. Ayes — 4, Nays — 0. <br />Ramsey County Election Certification: The City Council looked over and signed the <br />documents presented. <br />Resolution 2013-02 Gem Lake Scholarship: Mayor Uzpen would like to give two <br />scholarships of $500 to the following students: Adam Lindner and Holly Lorenz. <br />Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuny, Resolution 2013-02 passes. Ayes — 3, Nays — 0, Abstain — 1. <br />Resolution 2013-03 E-Charging for the Courts: Mayor Uzpen sent the Resolution to <br />the City Council to view. This will be administered by Prosecutor Rob Olson. <br />Upon motion by Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember <br />Lindner, Resolution 2013-03 passes. <br />Claims for April 2013: The claims for April was discussed and authorized to pay by <br />the City Council. Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner and seconded by <br />Councilmember Bosak, the claims for April 2013 passes. Ayes — 4, Nays — 0. <br />April Monthly Financial Report: There were no claims for this month. The City <br />Council would like this addressed with Tom Kelly, Gem Lake Treasurer with White Bear <br />Township. Mayor Uzpen stated he is meeting with Bill Short and Tom Kelly on <br />Thursday and it will be addressed. <br />PRESENTATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />There was a question from the residents regarding how the Scholarship money is <br />raised. Mayor Uzpen explained the process of how the money is raised from gambling <br />taxes from bars in the Gem Lake area. The proceeds also go towards the White Bear <br />Lake Food Bank, Union Gospel and the elementary school. All money goes back into <br />the community. <br />OPEN ITEMS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Councilmember Kuny wondered why two to three emails were sent regarding the permit <br />for Brian Hansen. Councilmember Kuny also was wondering how much money the City <br />of Gem Lake will be spending working with the Hansen property issues.
