CITY OF GEM LAKE, MN <br />4200 Otter Lake Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110-3227 <br />Telephone 651-747-2790 <br />E-mail CitvngemlakeNI[N.orQ <br />Gem Lake Planning Commission Meeting <br />7 August 2012 <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Gem Lake was called to <br />order by Chairperson Faith Kuny on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 7:05 p.m. at the <br />Gem Lake City Hall conference room. <br />The following members were present: Chairperson Faith Kuny, and Planning <br />Commissioners Arthur Pratt and Derek Wippich and Beth Herzog. Commissioner <br />Dan Marier and was not in attendance. <br />Planning Commission August Agenda: Chairperson Kuny asked for any <br />changes, deletions, or added agenda items. None was given and upon motion <br />by Commissioner Pratt and seconded by Commissioner Wippich; the August 7, <br />2012 agenda was approved. Ayes — 4, Nays — 0. <br />June Planning Commission Minutes: The June Planning Commission minutes <br />were reviewed and upon motion by Commissioner Herzog and seconded by <br />Commissioner Wippich, the June Planning Commission minutes were approved. <br />Ayes — 4, Nays — 0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Chairperson Faith Kuny has not heard from the hockey arena project. The <br />developer came to a City Council Workshop and discussed some of the changes <br />they had made to their plan. It was recommend that they work on the wetland <br />delineations and they stated they would have another meeting with the residents <br />around that area. At this point, no meeting has been scheduled for the residents. <br />The Planning Commission started working on rewriting parts of Ordinance No. <br />43K. The commission has been tasked with rewriting certain sections, so the <br />current code will match the approved Comprehensive Plan. Working on sections <br />5-8, the residential zoning ordinances, it was discussed whether to keep the old <br />titles with new definitions instead of using ES which is confusing. There was <br />discussion on the wordage of the plot of land. It also states you can grow <br />produce for resale naming it "truck gardening" for all residential districts, but you <br />would need to re -zone in the Gateway district. You also need an Interim Use <br />Permit for truck gardening in the Gateway zone. The Planning Commission feels <br />
