CITY OF GEM LAKE <br />RESOLUTION NO.2003-06 <br />29 SEPTEMBER 2003 <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING FUNDING FROM THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION THROUGH THE MUNICIPAL AGREEMENT PROGRAM FOR <br />FISCAL YEAR 2005. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Gem Lake believes that the intersection of Highway 61 (TH 61) and County Road E (CSAH 15) along with the <br />adjacent approaches to and departures from the attendant roadways are in need of substantial changes to abate congestion and reduce <br />accidents due to current traffic volumes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Gem Lake believes said intersection and roadways will require even further changes as this area has been identified <br />as the primary north - south detour for the long term reconstruction of I35E/I694, also known as "unweave-the-weave", scheduled to <br />commence in 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Vadnais Heights and Ramsey County share these concerns and have agreed to equally share the costs associated <br />with the submittal of an application to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for funding of improvements at and adjacent said <br />intersection under the Municipal Agreement Program for Fiscal Year 2005. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Gem Lake, Ramsey County, Minnesota on behalf of the <br />City of Gem Lake does hereby request funding from the Minnesota Department of Transportation through it's Municipal Agreement <br />Program for Fiscal Year 2005. <br />ATTEST <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Council Member Watson and was supported by Council Member Igo and was declared <br />adopted by a vote of the City Council of 5 Ayes, 0 Nays, and 0 Abstentions as follows: <br />EMEOTT <br />BIRKEBAK <br />IGO <br />WATSON <br />BOSAK <br />Aye <br />Aye <br />Aye <br />Aye <br />Aye <br />I, Frederic C.
