Lindner explained to the council the need for the city to reapply for its MS4 permit as required by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) by December 30. He stated that he received a voice message at his house from the MPCA and then logged onto the MPCA website to look at the application. As he considered the technical nature of the application he determined that he did not have the necessary expertise to complete the application thus he forwarded an email to Mayor Uzpen suggesting the city utilize its engineering firm, SEH, to complete the application. He also noted that he contacted the MPCA to inform them that the city may not have the application complete by the December 30 deadline. Based on comment from the mayor and council, plus input from Attorney Kelly, Lindner will contact the MPCA via email to explain that the city will be moving forward with completing the application as soon as possible.
