An open space, available fox unstructured recreation <br />and civic purposes. A square is spatially defined by <br />roadway and building frontages. Its landscape shall <br />consist of paved paths, lavwns and formally arranged <br />trees. The paved paths within the square shall be <br />distinguishable from surrounding sidewalks and <br />streets by choice of materials and design. <br />Improvements such as fountains, pergolas, band - <br />shells, hiosls and pedestrian amenities such as bench- <br />es may be installed within the square. <br />Buildings adjacent to or across the street from the <br />square shall treat the square (or street shared with the <br />square) as the buildings primary frontage. <br />Angle parking on at least tvm of the streets fronting <br />the square is encouraged to provide additional on- <br />9txeetparking foxneaxbybuildings. <br />01 <br />An open space, available for civic purposes and com- <br />mercial activities. It shall be <br />located near the intersection of important streets. <br />The plaza its elf may be configured as a street, with a <br />single travel lane no uadex than 14' placed between <br />pedestrian -only walkways of at least equal"' idth.. <br />Improvements such as bandshells or similar public <br />gathering spaces are peimitted. Benches and similar <br />pedestrian amenities shall be installed. <br />Adjacent building: shall treat the plaza as the primary <br />Plaza 0.1 D, Blvd. frontage. When approved as part of a Development <br />flan, a portion of the plaza shall be desiaiated as <br />available to commercial uses which front the plaza <br />(such as outdoor seating for restaurants). <br />W1 <br />
